Pentre Awel: A Premier Destination for Innovation, Wellbeing and Community

Pentre Awel is a pioneering health and wellbeing innovation campus in Llanelli, Carmarthenshire, designed to create a healthier, more connected and prosperous future. Bringing together innovation, wellbeing, learning, business and community on one integrated site, it provides a unique environment where people, organisations and ideas can thrive.

The first phase of the development opened in October 2025 with Canolfan Pentre Awel, a vibrant hub which currently offers community healthcare services, including phlebotomy and cardiac rehabilitation assessment, alongside a state-of-the-art gym, leisure facilities, café, meeting spaces and training rooms – bringing patients, families, schools and businesses together onsite. The campus also hosts a growing programme of community wellbeing events that encourage connection, learning and healthier lifestyles.

Looking ahead, further developments planned for 2027 include a dedicated business and innovation suite, wellbeing and treatment facilities, and a conference centre, strengthening Pentre Awel’s role as a catalyst for health, economic growth and collaboration.

As a multi-phase development, the wider Pentre Awel site will also include a hotel and assisted living and care home facilities, creating a destination that serves communities, businesses and visitors alike.

Pentre Awel is owned and managed by Carmarthenshire County Council.
